Is the word parcelamento the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

While the word "parcelamento" exists in both varieties, its typical usage and primary meaning differ significantly.

In Brazilian Portuguese, "parcelamento" is the standard term used in commerce and finance to refer to the act of splitting a single payment into multiple installments (an installment plan).

In Continental Portuguese, "parcelamento" is much less common for financial transactions. When used in Portugal, the word is more frequently associated with the subdivision of land into plots (parcels/lots). For the concept of paying in installments, a Portuguese person would much more naturally use the word "prestações" (installments) or the phrase "pagamento em prestações" (payment in installments).
