Is the word objeto the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

The word "objeto" is identical in meaning, grammar, and spelling in both Brazilian and Continental Portuguese. The only differences lie in pronunciation.

In Continental Portuguese (EP), unstressed vowels are much more heavily reduced than in Brazilian Portuguese (BP). For example, the initial "o" in "objeto" is often reduced to a sound nearly identical to "u" ([u'bʒetu]), and the rhythm of speech is more "stress-timed." In Brazilian Portuguese, vowels tend to be more open and clearly articulated, and the rhythm is more "syllable-timed."
