The only difference between "nove" in Brazilian Portuguese and Continental Portuguese is pronunciation. In Brazil, the final "e" is almost always pronounced as a weak "i" (sounding like no-vee). In Portugal, while the final "e" is also reduced in unstressed positions, the phonetic realization of the vowels and the rhythmic cadence of the word differ, typically resulting in a more closed "o" and a very clipped, almost silent final "e."
