Is the word moderna the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

Yes.

The word "moderna" is identical in meaning, spelling, and grammar in both Brazilian and Continental Portuguese. The only difference lies in pronunciation.

In Brazilian Portuguese, vowels tend to be more open and clearly articulated. For example, the final "a" is pronounced clearly as [a]. In Continental Portuguese, vowels are often "reduced" or swallowed; the final "a" is much more closed and subtle, sounding closer to a very short [ɐ]. Additionally, the unstressed vowels in the middle of the word may be much more muted in Portugal than in Brazil.
