Is the word instrumentos the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

Yes

The only difference between the two varieties is pronunciation. In Brazilian Portuguese, vowels are typically more open and clearly articulated. In Continental (European) Portuguese, vowels—especially unstressed ones—tend to be much more closed, reduced, or even "swallowed" (elided). While a Brazilian would pronounce every syllable of "ins-tru-men-tos" distinctly, a Portuguese person might produce a much shorter, more muffled sound, where the unstressed vowels are barely audible. The spelling, grammar, and meaning remain identical in both varieties.
