Is the word dirigente the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

In Brazil, "dirigente" is commonly used to refer to corporate executives or business managers. In Portugal, while the word is perfectly natural for union leaders (dirigente sindical) or sports officials (dirigente desportivo), a Portuguese speaker would much more naturally use "administrador" or "gestor" when referring to business leadership.
