Is the word desses the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

Yes

The word "desses" is a contraction of the preposition de and the demonstrative pronoun esses. There are no differences in meaning, spelling, or grammatical function between Brazilian and Continental Portuguese. The only difference is pronunciation. In Brazilian Portuguese, the vowels are generally more open and the rhythm is more syllable-timed. In Continental Portuguese, the vowels are often more closed or reduced, and the rhythm is more stress-timed.
