Is the word africano the same in Brazilian and European Portuguese?

The only difference between "africano" in Brazilian Portuguese and Continental Portuguese is pronunciation.

In Brazilian Portuguese, the vowels are more "open" and the rhythm is more melodic (syllable-timed). The "a" sounds are clearer, and the "o" at the end of the word is usually pronounced as a soft "u".

In Continental Portuguese, the rhythm is stress-timed, and there is significant vowel reduction. This means the unstressed vowels are much more "closed" or almost silent.
